Thursday, 5 February, will see intense weather conditions in the North West, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State. Make sure to dress accordingly and stay mindful of the weather.

NORTH WEST

In the North West, the day will be fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and hot. The western parts of the province can expect isolated showers and thundershowers.

MAHIKENG

The North West capital city will be fine, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. You can expect temperatures to reach a high of 34.

KWAZULU-NATAL

A Yellow level 2 Warning has been issued for the southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal. Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning, and hail are expected.

DURBAN

KZN’s largest city will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. You can expect a low of 24 and a high of 32. The expected UVB Sunburn Index is very high, so sunscreen is a must.

FREE STATE

The Free State will be fine and otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot. Isolated showers and thundershowers are also on the cards.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloem can expect partly cloudy and windy conditions with scattered showers and thundershowers. A high of 35 is expected.
