Rangers appoint Ferguson as interim coach

Barry Ferguson has been appointed as interim Rangers head coach after Philippe Clement’s sacking.

Clement was dismissed on Sunday after a 2-0 residence defeat to St Mirren left Rangers 13 factors behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.

Rangers additionally crashed out of the Scottish Cup with a shock defeat to second-tier Queen’s Park.

Ex-Scotland worldwide Ferguson, who performed for Rangers for 10 years throughout two spells with the membership, has now been appointed till the top of the season.

He shall be assisted by Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor.

“We respect [Ferguson] and his crew entering into the function at this tough time,” Rangers chief govt Patrick Stewart mentioned.

Ferguson’s first match in cost will come in opposition to Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
