Porsche’s Not Playing: The Swoopy 2026 Cayenne Coupe Electric Offers Up to 1,139 hp

Although other automakers have somewhat taken their foot off the, er, gas on their electric vehicle plans, Porsche has kept the pedal firmly to the floor. As a second act to the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric SUV, which dazzled with physics-breaking performance in our First Drive review, the German automaker now introduces a style-forward coupe variant that looks as dramatic as its specs suggest.

The 911 sports car is central to Porsche’s design language; the company of course says it inspired the Cayenne Coupe Electric’s sloping “flyline” silhouette. To accommodate this roofline, Porsche fit a new windshield that’s distinct from the glass found on the SUV version of the Cayenne Electric. These changes to the Cayenne Electric’s body drop the roof height by 0.94 inch and lower the SUV’s drag coefficient from 0.25 to 0.23, making it slippery indeed. In the rear, Porsche equips an adaptive rear spoiler that collapses to be flush with the body in normal driving and deploys for downforce when needed.

800-volt architecture underpins every version of the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric, just like the SUV model. Both body styles ride on Porsche’s adaptive two-chamber, two-valve air suspension, which can be adjusted for comfortable cruising or high-performance driving.

Three dual-motor powertrains are available for the 2026 Cayenne Coupe Electric, using the naming scheme familiar to fans of the Porsche brand. The base level Cayenne Coupe Electric develops a maximum of 435 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, achievable with the use of launch control. Doing so scoots the Cayenne Coupe Electric from 0–60 mph in a Porsche-claimed 4.5 seconds. Top speed is 143 mph.

Out of the gate, the Cayenne Coupe Electric S is the lineup’s middle child. Its specs are anything but midrange, however, with a total max output of 657 hp and 796 lb-ft of torque. 0–60 mph breezes by in just 3.6 seconds and top speed is pegged at 155 mph.

The range-topping model is the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric, which cranks out a ridiculous 1,139 hp and 1,106 lb-ft. It demolishes the S in the 0–60-mph sprint, needing a mere 2.4 seconds to get the job done. V-max is 162 mph.

Once you’ve run out of juice, Porsche continues to equip two charging ports as it does with its other EVs. Like the Macan Electric, the ports are situated in the rear. For Level 2 charging, there’s a J-1772 port on the passenger side. A NACS port handles fast charging at speeds up to 400 kW. It also allows for native connectivity with the Tesla Supercharger network. Porsche claims charging from 10–80 percent takes less than 16 minutes, which is extraordinarily quick for an EV with a 113-kWh battery pack. Should you need to charge on a station with a CCS plug, Porsche tosses in an adapter for every 2026 Cayenne Coupe Electric. The company hasn’t made any claims about driving range just yet, but expect that figure to lie somewhere in 300-plus-mile territory based on our test with a prototype that traveled 350 miles on a single charge.

Inside the cabin, Porsche offers the new Cayenne Coupe Electric with four- or five-seater layouts. The second row is electronically adjustable and can recline, adding some practical luxury to the electric SUV’s appointments. In the trunk, there’s a cargo cover that stows away beneath the load floor so you never have to leave it in your garage when hauling a full load.

In keeping with the Cayenne’s roots as a sport utility vehicle, Porsche claims its midsize EV can tow up to 7,716 pounds. Should you plan to frequent trails or fire roads during camping trips, there’s an Off-Road package available that Porsche says improves approach angle.
