Army Authorities Was Extra Sympathetic To Plight of Lecturers

President of Educational Employees Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof Emmanuel Osodeke has reacted to the refusal of the federal authorities to fulfil its calls for.


In keeping with Osodeke, previous governments, together with the navy have been extra sympathetic to the plight of lecturers.


Talking on the unveiling of fifty tertiary textbooks revealed by Nigerian authors below the sponsorship of the Tertiary Schooling Belief Fund (TETFund) in Abuja on Thursday, January 5, Osodeke shared a few of their experiences below navy governments. 


He stated; 


““Thanks very a lot for this honourable minister and all of us who’re current right here as we speak. I wish to thank my colleagues for elevating the problems and I believe it is vitally necessary. I’ll simply say just a little factor about what’s TETFUND and the way did it originate?

Commenting on the ‘no work no pay’ coverage of the Federal Authorities in opposition to hanging lecturers which has resulted in eight months of unpaid salaries, Osodeke appealed to Nigerians to pressurize the federal government to save lots of tertiary training from collapse.


The ASUU President who known as for a rise of training tax from the present 2.5percent to 10 % to allow TETFund mobilise extra funds to completely handle challenges confronting the sector, additionally decried the poor angle of some massive corporations and rich Nigerians on the cost of training tax.
