Kwad is used to dancing magnificently on the skinny line that separates two distinct cultures with out lacking a step.

Born Christopher Oppong in Accra, Ghana – Kwad moved to Boston, Massachusetts in highschool and took with him a love of music. Although he didn’t begin making music till he was 18, his love for music served as a bridge between American and African tradition.

Identical to an ideal mix between Highlife, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop & Dancehall, Kwad represents the perfect variations of each cultures. The rapper/singer’s music is colourful, soothing, sincere and assured. Nowhere is that this extra evident than on his newest single ‘Power’.

‘Power’ is a bouncy mid-tempo tune that sneaks up on you slowly. The opening bells lure you in and the drums maintain your physique in a trance forcing it to maneuver in sync to the rhythm. Kwad enters the tune with a horny baritone belting “she a nasty man killer, she received me on the street I’m a vendor”.

Kwad’s verse sits comfortably between rapping and singing – melody pushed but lyrical. His temper and demeanor is complemented by Miochido, the featured co-star, whose tender crooning can solely be described as sultry. ‘Power’ is the proper backdrop for an evening of sensual dancing underneath low lights with a robust drink in hand.

The manufacturing on ‘Power’ is the mix between Afrobeats, R&B and Island vibes that lovers of the UK scene have turn into accustomed to from acts like J Hus, NSG and Kojo Funds. Kwad lists Travis Scott & Wizkid amongst his influences. ‘Power’ is now accessible to stream/buy on all digital music platforms right here: https://push.fm/fl/cyd5vlmq
