Political activities intensified on Wednesday at the famous Murtala Square as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepared to conduct its North-West zonal leadership election. The venue witnessed a large turnout of party stakeholders, delegates, and supporters from the seven states of the North-West, turning the square into a hub of political consultations and strategic discussions ahead of the exercise.
Delegates arrived in groups throughout the morning, exchanging views on the expected outcome of the election while expressing optimism that the process would strengthen the party’s leadership structure in the region.
Security personnel were strategically deployed around the square to maintain order and ensure a peaceful atmosphere as electoral officials concluded final arrangements before the commencement of voting. Observers at the venue noted that the election is being conducted under close supervision by party officials and monitors to ensure transparency and credibility in the process.
The zonal congress is expected to shape the leadership of the ruling party in the North-West and reinforce its organisational structure as it consolidates political influence in the region ahead of future electoral engagements.
