A Kano Senior Justice of the Peace’s Court docket remanded the Majority Chief of the Home of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, on the Goron Dutse Correctional Centre in Kano on Wednesday in a case of homicide.

Mr Doguwa (APC-Doguwa/Tudun Wada, Kano) is standing trial alongside one Bashir Dahiru on a six-count cost of conspiracy, culpable murder, inflicting grievous harm, arson, inciting public disturbance and illegal possession of firearms.

The prosecutor, Mrs Aisha Salisu, instructed the courtroom that the defendants dedicated the offence on Feb. 26 at Tudun Wada Dankadai in Dawakin Kudi Native Authorities Space of Kano State.

She instructed the courtroom that Doguwa allegedly shot one Ibrahim Dauda to loss of life and injured two individuals of their legs and arms.

“The defendants conspired with 5 others nonetheless at giant, carried out themselves in a fashion to trigger breach of public peace and burnt the workplace of the New Nigeria Peoples Get together (NNPP) in Tudun Wada Dankadai.

She stated that the offences contravened the Penal Code and the Firearms Act.

Salisu urged the courtroom to not admit the defendants to bail within the curiosity of public peace, and justice.

“Any individual accused of committing a capital offence which attracts extreme punishment shouldn’t be granted bail,’’ she stated.

No plea was taken.

Mr Doguwa’s defence counsel, Mr Abdul Adamu, urged the courtroom to grant the defendants bail arguing that: “the primary defendant is a public determine and majority chief of the Home of Representatives.’’

Presiding Senior Justice of the Peace Ibrahim Mansur-Yola ordered the remand of the defendant in custody and referred the case to the Director of Public Prosecution for recommendation.

He adjourned listening to on the bail software to March 7.
