Nov. 4 (UPI) — Former President Donald Trump was given extra time handy over paperwork that had been subpoenaed by the Home choose committee investigating the assault on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“We now have obtained correspondence from the previous President and his counsel in reference to the Choose Committee’s subpoena,” the committee’s chairman Bennie Thompson and vice chair Liz Cheney said in a joint statement.

“We now have knowledgeable the previous President’s counsel that he should start producing information no later than subsequent week and he stays beneath subpoena for deposition testimony beginning on November 14th.”

The committee had beforehand given Trump till Friday handy over paperwork it had requested final month, and has requested that he sit for an interview beneath oath starting on Nov. 14.

Sources told CNN that attorneys for Trump had accepted service of the subpoena on Oct. 26, although his legal professional David Warrington mentioned in an announcement that the committee was “flouting norms and acceptable and customary course of” by publicly releasing the subpoena.

The information got here as Oath Keepers chief Stewart Rhodes III defended the actions of his right-wing militia as he testified Friday throughout his seditious conspiracy legal trial.

Rhodes claimed President Biden’s lawful certification because the winner of the election was “invalid” as he sought to justify the group’s actions throughout riots on the U.S. Capitol.
