The Ghanaian govt has banned spending and transaction of corporations in international forex in the nation.

The Central Monetary institution of Ghana, which disclosed this in an announcement Thursday, warned electorate and corporations to cease transacting exchange, pricing goods and providers and selling in international forex.

In accordance to the nation’s apex financial institution, it is a ways unlawful for folk, corporations, institutions, and others to rob in international exchange exchange with out an acceptable licence from the regulator.

“Partaking in international exchange exchange with out a licence issued by Monetary institution of Ghana; or pricing, selling, receipting or making payments for goods and providers in international forex in Ghana, with out written authorisation from Monetary institution of Ghana,” the assertion reads.

“Such violations are punishable on abstract conviction by a gorgeous of up to seven hundred (700) penalty items or a term of imprisonment of no longer better than eighteen months(18) or both.”

The financial institution additionally cautioned the public to cease transacting exchange from the dark market.

“Monetary institution of Ghana hereby cautions the traditional public to desist from dealing in unlawful forex activities (dark market transactions), pricing, selling, receipting or making payments for goods and providers in international forex in Ghana, with out the requisite licence or authorization from Monetary institution of Ghana,” it added.

“The Public is hereby notified that the sole apt subtle in Ghana is the Ghana Cedi.

“The Monetary institution of Ghana, in collaboration with the Nationwide Security and Law Enforcement Agencies, will clamp down on unlawful international exchange operations. All offenders will seemingly be dealt with in accordance with the regulations.”

The Monetary institution of Ghana said it has collaborated with the nationwide safety and regulations enforcement agencies to clamp down on unlawful international exchange operations.
