CITY of Harare (CoH) and the Civil Safety Unit (CPU) have established two evacuation centres following an alert on potential floods within the capital attributable to steady rains.
The camps at Budiriro 2 Major Faculty and Kuwadzana 3 Major Faculty will present shelter to residents in flood-prone low-lying areas.
Harare mayor Jacob Mafume Thursday, inspired residents in low-lying areas to evacuate.
“The CPU has alerted the town to impending floods attributable to incessant rains. These are going to have an effect on low-lying areas particularly Budiriro, Hopley and people who find themselves located in wetlands.
