Lisa Naalsund’s second-half double helped Manchester United beat Liverpool as Marc Skinner’s side moved up to second place in the Women’s Super League.

Liverpool had initially done an excellent job in frustrating United in the first period, before Naalsund’s brilliant finish seven minutes after the break led to a flurry of goals, with the visitors immediately levelling matters thanks to Alice Bergstrom’s close-range finish after a goal-line scramble.

However, United wasted little time in restoring their lead, albeit with a little help from their opponents who were caught in possession, before another fine Naalsund finish from the edge of the area.

And Skinner’s team wrapped up the victory with just three minutes to go through substitute Fridolina Rolfo’s improvised back-heel finish.
