WEATHER: Thunderstorms loom for these provinces

The forecast for Thursday, 19 March has a little bit of everything – foggy mornings, warm afternoons, and isolated showers. Here’s what to expect in the North West, Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal.

NORTH WEST

Morning fog patches are expected in the east, while the rest of the province will be partly cloudy and warm. Isolated showers and thundershowers are possible in the far east.

MAHIKENG

The capital will start fine, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon, with a cool 16°C in the morning and a high of 29°C later in the day.

FREE STATE

Eastern areas may see morning fog, with the rest of the province experiencing partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures. Isolated showers and thundershowers could occur in the extreme east.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Expect fine conditions in the morning, turning partly cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from a low of 13°C to a high of 28°C.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Fog is expected in the interior during the morning, with partly cloudy skies and warm to hot conditions for the rest of Thursday. Isolated showers and thundershowers are possible.

DURBAN

Partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will be between 23°C and 28°C.
