WEATHER: Scorching temperatures expected in these provinces

A boiling day is expected across the North West, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Free State on Friday, 2 January.

NORTH WEST

In the North West, or the Platinum Province, Friday will bring partly cloudy and hot weather conditions.

MAHIKENG

In the North West capital, Mahikeng, it will be partly cloudy. You can expect a low of 17°C and a high of 33°C.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Morning fog is expected in parts of KwaZulu-Natal. The day will bring partly cloudy and warm conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers. Make sure to lather on the sunscreen, as the expected UVB sunburn index indicates high conditions.

DURBAN

In KZN’s largest city, you can expect partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers. The day will be hot, with a minimum of 20°C and a maximum of 28°C.

FREE STATE

In the Free State, Friday will be fine to partly cloudy and warm to hot.

BLOEMFONTEIN

In Bloemfontein, expect fine conditions in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy. Temperatures will range from 15°C to 31°C.
