WEATHER: Scorching temperatures and storms in these provinces

The Yellow Level 2 Warning for severe thunderstorms remains in effect across several provinces. Parts of North West, Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal should brace for intense weather.

NORTH WEST

The North West will start off fine, becoming partly cloudy and hot to very hot in the afternoon, with isolated showers and thundershowers.

MAHIKENG

In Mahikeng, expect a scorching hot day despite the weather warning. Wednesday will be partly cloudy, with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will range from 18°C to 34°C.

KWAZULU-NATAL

If you’re in KZN, remember to slap on some sunscreen, as the UVB sunburn index is high. The day will be warm to hot, very hot in some areas, with isolated showers and thundershowers—scattered mainly in the south-west.

DURBAN

Durban can expect a cloudy morning, with the rest of the day partly cloudy. Temperatures will range from a low of 23°C to a high of 29°C.

FREE STATE

Fine, hot to very hot conditions are expected in the Free State. The day will become partly cloudy in the afternoon, with isolated showers and thundershowers.

BLOEMFONTEIN

A scorcher is on the cards for Bloemfontein, with temperatures reaching a high of 37°C.
