WEATHER: KZN urged to brace for brutal conditions

It’s proving to be a wet weekend across parts of the country, with the South African Weather Service issuing a warning for KwaZulu-Natal. Here’s what you can expect in the North West and Free State as well on Saturday, 28 March and Sunday, 29 March.

KWAZULU-NATAL

A Yellow Level 4 Warning for severe thunderstorms has been issued for the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal. This could lead to flooding of low-lying areas. Strong damaging winds and hail are also on the cards.

DURBAN

On Saturday, expect partly cloudy conditions with scattered evening showers and thundershowers. Sunday will be cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 31°C on both days.

NORTH WEST

The North West will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the west.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. Despite the rain you can expect a scorcher, temperatures will range from 18°C to 30°C on Saturday. Sunday will be 19°C to 31°C.

FREE STATE

Cloudy and cool conditions will be on the cards for the Free State. The rest of the weekend will be warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the north-east.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers are expected in Bloemfontein, with a low of 18°C expected on both days. Highs of 27°C and 28°C are expected.
