KwaZulu-Natal, the North West, and the Free State are set to experience severe weather on Wednesday, 11 February. Residents are advised to stay alert as thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong winds, and potential flooding are expected across these provinces.

KWAZULU-NATAL

A Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for KwaZulu-Natal. Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, strong damaging winds, large amounts of small hail, and excessive lightning are expected across the province.

DURBAN

Durban can expect partly cloudy conditions, along with isolated showers and thundershowers. The temperature in province is expected to be reach a maximum of 35°C.

NORTH WEST

The North West province is expected to be partly cloudy and warm to hot. Isolated showers and thundershowers are anticipated over the central and western parts of the province.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng will be partly cloudy. The minimum temperature is expected to be 18°C, while the maximum temperature will reach a high of 32°C.

FREE STATE

A Yellow Level 2 warning is also issued for the southern parts of the Free State. These storms may lead to localised damage to infrastructure, informal settlements, property, vehicles, livelihoods, and livestock. Localised flooding is also possible on susceptible roads, in low-lying areas, and near bridges.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein is expected to be cloudy, with scattered showers and thundershowers. The minimum temperature is expected to be 17°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 28°C.
