Feb. 23 (UPI) — Paramount+ launched the trailer for Season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery on Friday. The ultimate season premieres April 4.
The streaming service introduced Season 5 would be the final season in March. They introduced the April premiere in February.
Discovery started as a prequel to the 1966 Star Trek sequence. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Inexperienced) rose from mutinous first officer to Captain of the Discovery, after leaping 1000 years into the longer term.
The trailer exhibits the crew “on a seek for one of many best powers ever identified” that “could possibly be harmful within the incorrect arms.” The crew prepares for his or her last mission with Burnham calling them her household.
Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, David Ajala, Blu del Barrio and Callum Keith Rennie additionally star. Elias Toufexis and Eve Harlow recur as visitor stars.
There can be 10 episodes of Season 5. New episodes will premiere Thursdays.
The movie Star Trek: Section 31 can also be in manufacturing, spun off from Michelle Yeoh‘s Discovery character.
