Tensions flared on the Assemblies of God Church polling station within the Ablekuma West Constituency, Higher Accra Area, following the arrival of a pickup truck carrying breakfast packs allegedly despatched by the incumbent Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. The MP, representing the New Patriotic Occasion (NPP), is contesting towards the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Kweku Addo.
The meals packs, in response to Doris Boakye, a member of the NPP within the constituency, have been meant for polling brokers and Electoral Fee (EC) officers. “We simply introduced breakfast for our polling brokers and EC officers, however NDC members are asking us to take away the car. The meals is from Ursula Owusu. This shouldn’t be a problem as a result of it’s not for voters,” she advised Citi Information.
Nevertheless, the presence of the truck sparked agitation amongst some voters, believed to be NDC supporters, who accused the crew of trying to affect the electoral course of. Amidst hoots and jeers, they pressured the car to go away the polling station.
The pickup truck is now parked outdoors the voting heart, the place it continues to attract consideration from curious onlookers. Law enforcement officials have since arrived on the scene to revive order and guarantee calm on the polling station.
