Uruguay striker Luis Suárez becoming a member of Brazil’s Gremio

PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil (AP) — Uruguay striker Luis Suárez is becoming a member of Gremio, the Brazilian membership stated Saturday.

The 35-year-old Suárez was a free agent after he left his boyhood membership Nacional earlier than the World Cup in Qatar. Brazilian media stories stated Suárez signed a two-year cope with Gremio.

“One of many greatest in Uruguay’s historical past, Luis Suarez is coming to proceed his victorious trajectory,” Gremio stated on social media. “A prime purpose scorer, a a number of champion, and a fighter. Welcome, Luisito.”

Suárez, who performed for Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, confirmed the deal.
