Update: Police officers caught on tape assaulting two suspects with machete in Imo state face orderly room trial

The Imo state police command has commenced the orderly room trial of six of its officers after a video of certainly one of them assaulting two suspects with a machete went viral. 

Final week, LIB shared the video displaying the suspects being assaulted by the officers. The video was condemned by many Nigerians together with the police command who in an announcement signed by its spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye, stated officers are a detachment of one of many command’s tactical groups and have been defaulted for ‘’Discreditable/Unprofessional Conduct, Improper Dressing, Incivility to and Assaulting the duo suspects.’’ 

He added that the 2 suspects had been being arrested after they had been discovered at a hard-drug spot within the space, with some banned substances. Learn here.

In an replace given on Twitter, the spokesperson of the command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated;

‘’The Imo State Police command has commenced the orderly room trial of the policemen who had been caught on a video flogging and assaulting a person in Imo State just lately.  The lads are:.

1. Inspector Amadi Sunday (The Crew Chief)

2. Inspector Amajuoji Charlse

3. Sgt Noachian Chinese language

4. Sgt Onwuka Emmanuel

5. Cpl Nzewuodo Goodness

6. Computer Emmanuel Chmezie.”
