Tunisia’s Minister of Business, Mines and Power, Fatima Al-Thabat Shibb, has authorised 4 photo voltaic tasks with a mixed capability of 500 MW.
France-based Qair Worldwide will construct a 100 MW facility within the Kasr area of Gafsa province and a 200 MW challenge within the Al-Khabna area of Sidi Bouzid Governorate. French developer Voltalia will assemble a 100 MW photo voltaic farm in Gabès province. A consortium of Norway’s Scatec and Japan’s Aeolus, a unit of Toyota Tsusho, will develop a 100 MW PV plant close to Mazouna in Sidi Bouzid Governorate.
“These tasks are anticipated to return into operation beginning in 2027 and can be capable of produce about 1,100 GWh per 12 months, equal to five% of the nationwide electrical energy manufacturing and an economic system of about 250 thousand tons of pure gasoline, value about $125 million per 12 months,” the ministry stated in a press release.
