The Military in an announcement on Friday, Could 24, 2024, stated the sting operation befell on Friday 24 Could 2024 alongside the Abong-Kurmi Baissa Highway in Taraba State, between Nigeria and Cameroon border.

The suspects, recognized as Jafaru Adamu (32 years), Auwal Haruna (34 years), Umar Dahiru, Mubarak Abdullahi (20 years), Saidu Musa (26 years), Bashiru Ibrahim (18 years), Danlami Yahuaza (19 years), and Abubakar Abdullahi (19 years), had been caught en route the border with a big amount of gas.
