Essendi, a leading hotel owner and operator in Europe, has announced the opening of TRIBE Krakow Old Town, marking a key milestone in its strategic expansion. This new hotel, located on Worcella Street in Krakow’s historic centre, is the first property in Poland under the design-focused TRIBE brand from Accor.

The hotel offers 168 rooms and suites, a pan-Asian restaurant, a cocktail bar, meeting rooms, wellness facilities, and more, all designed to cater to the modern traveller. TRIBE Krakow Old Town joins Essendi’s broader portfolio, adding to its long-standing presence in the city.

“Following our rebranding, which opened a new chapter in our company’s journey, TRIBE Krakow Old Town represents a strategic move aligned with our vision of responsible hospitality. This is a deliberate investment in the very heart of Krakow – a city of unique cultural and economic importance in Central and Eastern Europe. At Essendi, we don’t just operate hotels – we create the conditions for them to thrive and deliver long-term value. Together with Accor, we’ve developed a space that blends design, functionality, and the spirit of the city, offering guests more than just a place to stay. This is Positive Hospitality in action – rooted in responsibility, local relevance, and guest experience. The investment also strengthens our leadership in the economy and midscale segments across Europe.” – Dominik Sołtysik, Chief Operating Officer Eastern Europe at Essendi

The new hotel is strategically placed near major attractions, providing easy access to Krakow’s bustling cultural and business districts. This opening is part of Essendi’s broader vision to create spaces that blend design, functionality, and local relevance, offering not just a place to stay but an experience that supports the needs of both leisure and business visitors.

“Krakow is one of Poland’s most vibrant cities: creative, cosmopolitan, and open to global trends. An ideal playground for TRIBE’s first Polish address. Created for modern travellers who blend work, leisure, and design, TRIBE is more than a hotel. It’s a social hub, a stylish hideout, a place to vibe and connect. With TRIBE Krakow Old2Town, we’re bringing our bold, lifestyle and design-forward spirit to the heart of Poland and kicking off a new chapter of our adventure in Europe.” – Pauline Oster, Vice President TRIBE Europe & North Africa, Accor.

The hotel’s design reflects TRIBE’s bold, lifestyle-forward brand, with interiors developed by Stone Designs of Spain and architecture by Krakow-based Ingarden & Ewý studio. The hotel is applying for BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification, underscoring Essendi’s commitment to sustainability.

“TRIBE Krakow Old Town is more than just a great hotel – it sets a new standard for contemporary hospitality. It’s infused with creative energy, bold design, and a strong sense of place. I believe lifestyle brands represent the future of our industry, and TRIBE perfectly matches what today’s travellers are looking for. I’m proud that Krakow – a city with deep character and global potential – is the launchpad for this exciting concept in Poland,” – Tomasz Schweda, Multi-Site General Manager for both TRIBE Krakow Old Town and Mercure Krakow Old Town.

“TRIBE Krakow Old Town is a ground-up development – built on land we own, delivered under full investor responsibility, and developed in close collaboration with our design and construction partners. From the outset, our goal was to create a space that is functional, visually engaging, and environmentally aligned. This project illustrates how Essendi creates contemporary destinations that meet the real needs of cities, travellers, and the market.” – Dariusz Gul, Technical & Construction Director Northern Europe at Essendi

This development highlights Essendi’s ability to manage the full investment cycle, from landownership to operation, with TRIBE Krakow Old Town standing as a clear example of their strategy to create sustainable and innovative destinations across Europe.

Kraków, Poland, continues to attract international hotel brands, signaling the city’s growing importance in the European hospitality market. Recently, the TRIBE brand  announced its first property in Poland, TRIBE Kraków Stare Miasto, set to open in 2025.

In addition, Nobu Hospitality is also making its mark in Kraków, with plans for a new Nobu Hotel, Restaurant, and Residences near the historic Old Town, further contributing to the city’s appeal for high-end travelers. This follows the opening of The Crown Kraków Handwritten Collection hotel, marking the arrival of Accor’s Handwritten Collection brand in Poland.

These developments reflect Kraków’s growing status as a hub for both business and leisure tourism, with a range of new hotels catering to diverse market segments. The city’s appeal is further enhanced by its rich history and vibrant cultural scene, making it an attractive destination for global hotel operators.
