Nigeria is ably represented, as there are six Super Eagles stars slugging it out for their different clubs.

In this piece, Soccernet.ng highlights the top Super Eagles players to watch in the 2025/2026 Premier League season.

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey will be looking to build on his performances of last season with Fulham this year.

Last season, he was a top performer for the Cottagers, and went on to win the Player of the Year Award at the club.

This season, he will look to do more under the tutelage of coach Marco Silva. If Fulham can continue from where they left off last season, they might even sneak into a European spot.

Alex Iwobi

The 29-year-old Super Eagles midfielder is a serial Premier League campaigner. In fact, he has played in England throughout his club career.

Iwobi had a career-best season last time out, as he contributed nine goals and six assists in the Premier League. He was also consistent last season, as he played all the games.

The dates have been announced.

This season, the former Arsenal man will hope to even do better for the Cottagers. With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching, and the competition for spots in the Super Eagles squad increasing, Iwobi will likely raise his game. He is definitely one to watch this season.

Taiwo Awoniyi

Taiwo Awoniyi will be looking to make a strong come-back at Nottingham Forest after a disastrous injury-ridden 2024/2025 campaign.

The Super Eagles striker used to be the first-choice striker at the club, but his constant injury problems opened to door for an in-form Chris Wood to take his spot.

This season, Awoniyi has more competition for a starting shirt at the City Ground. But he definitely has quality. And if he manages to stay fit, he should be able to reclaim his place.

Ola Aina

Unlike his compatriot Awoniyi, Aina had a great 2024/2025 campaign with Nottingham Forest. He was a stalwart at the Tricky Trees’ right back position. The Nigerian was key to their 7th-place place finish in the league.

This year, Aina has an extra boost, as he penned an extension during the summer break. The former Chelsea man will also play in the Europa League for the first time in his career.

Emmanuel Dennis

Emmanuel Dennis’ situation at Nottingham Forest has degenerated badly. In fact, it is easy to forget that he is still a player at the club, as he has not played for them since May 2023.

The Nigerian attacker used to be the toast of England after a stellar 2021/2022 campaign at Watford, when he contributed 10 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances.

But now, he is now an outcast at the City Ground. He will hope that his fortunes improve soon, as he still has one year left on his contract.

Frank Onyeka

Frank Onyeka is currently on Brentford’s books, and he will hope to play an important role for them this season.

He spent last season at Bundesliga club Augsburg and was an important player for them. Still, they did not sign him permanently.

Onyeka did not see a lot of game time in pre-season under new manager new Keith Andrews. But with the exit of exit of Christian Norgaard, there is a possibility that he will see more action this season.

The Super Eagles star will hope to get more time in the Premier League this season, as the 2025 AFCON is close. He might not get selected by coach Eric Chelle if he does not play for Brentford regularly.
