For international students planning their next move in 2025, post-study work (PSW) visas remain a deciding factor when choosing where to study.

Beyond tuition and rankings, many students now focus on what happens after graduation: how long they can stay, whether they can work freely, and if the system supports a move into long-term residence.

Across several regions, governments continue to use PSW routes to retain global talent. Here is a list of 10 countries offering post-study work options that matter to graduates planning for 2026.

1. United Kingdom

The UK offers a Post-Study Work (PSW) visa that allows graduates to live and work for up to two years without employer sponsorship. During this period, graduates can move into the Skilled Worker visa if they secure a qualifying role.

2. Canada

Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) allows graduates to stay and work for up to three years. Work experience gained under the PGWP can support Permanent Residency applications through the Express Entry system.

4. New Zealand
