Tinubu saved democracy by not influencing s’courtroom verdicts on guber disputes– Marafa

 

Kabir Marafa, a former senator
representing Zamfara central, says President Bola Tinubu saved democracy within the
nation by not interfering with verdicts on the supreme courtroom on the varied
governorship disputes.

On Friday, the apex courtroom
affirmed the elections of Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau); Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano);
Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos); Bala Mohammed (Bauchi); Dauda Lawal (Zamfara);
Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi) Alex Otti (Abia) and Bassey Otu (Cross River).

The governors had been declared as
the winners of the March 2023 election by the Impartial Nationwide Electoral
Fee (INEC).

In a press release on Monday, Marafa
stated Tinubu and justices of the supreme courtroom have lived as much as the expectations
of Nigerians.

“It’s a welcome
improvement. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has by this singular motion of
non-interference within the Supreme Court docket judgment saved the nation’s democracy
and forestalled the repeat of the 1983 situation,” the assertion reads.

“You’ll recall that it was

The previous lawmaker recalled how
the All Progressives Congress (APC) misplaced Zamfara state within the 2019 elections in

Yari, the judiciary stood as much as the event and delivered a landmark judgment
that gave the entire state to the PDP opposition occasion,” Marafa stated.

“The judiciary have to be

Whereas congratulating the governor
of Zamfara over the supreme courtroom verdict. Marafa urged him to justify the
confidence reposed in him by the folks of the state.
