The vigilance of a Springbok SAPS K9 workforce led to the arrest of three suspects present in possession of rhino horns and protected crops within the Northern Cape city.
The police acquired details about an unknown car transporting rhino horns on the R355 highway between Springbok and Gamoep.

The intelligence was operationalised and a car checkpoint (VCP) was arrange on the stated highway to cease and search all autos.
The police K9 protected species canine, Ozzy, positively responded to baggage in one of many autos that was stopped and searched.
The workforce discovered protected crops with an estimated worth of R45 400 and rhino horns valued at roughly R449 000 and arrested a feminine and two male suspects aged 23, 47 and 56 respectively.
The trio appeared within the Springbok Justice of the Peace Court docket on Tuesday, 12 November.
The Namakwa District Commissioner, Brigadier Schalk Andrews, thanked the group for being the eyes and ears of the police, by reporting criminality, enabling the police to behave swiftly.
