Ghanaians have taken to social media to have fun John Dumelo’s victory because the Member of Parliament-elect for Ayawaso West Wuogon within the 2024 basic elections.

Dumelo, a preferred actor-turned-politician and candidate for the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC), unseated the incumbent, Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the New Patriotic Get together (NPP), in a tightly contested race.

Dumelo’s win marks a historic second, as he had come shut within the 2020 elections, narrowly shedding amidst challenges akin to voter absenteeism amongst college college students as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

This time round, his grassroots marketing campaign methods and community-focused initiatives resonated with the voters.

Many imagine his potential to attach with odd residents and his integrity performed an important position in swaying votes in his favour​.
