The Super Eagles will keep away from different African heavyweights in the draw.

Super Eagles of Nigeria are in Pot 1 for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers ahead of the primary draws on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in Cairo, Egypt.
The Super Eagles make Pot 1 on account of their place on the FIFA Ranking where they are 31st place and third in Africa.

It’s the newest FIFA Ranking launched in December 2019 that was used to find out the pots for the draw.

Being in Pot 1 signifies that the Super Eagles will keep away from different African heavyweights as Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and bitter rivals, Ghana and Cameroon.

Since their FIFA World Cup debut in 1994, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for six of the last seven FIFA World Cups, lacking solely the 2006 edition and have reached the Round-of-16 three times.
