The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts announced the signing of a management agreement with The Godwin Group to establish The Leela Jaisalmer, a new resort in Rajasthan. This development marks the brand’s entry into Jaisalmer, a city known for its desert landscape and historical significance.

The planned resort will cover 30 acres and include 80 rooms. It is scheduled to open in 2026. The location is near Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is accessible from Jaisalmer Airport and Jodhpur. The resort will feature a range of amenities, including a spa, salon, kids’ club, swimming pool, dining venues, a man-made lake, a ballroom, and outdoor spaces suitable for events.

This project is part of The Leela’s strategy to expand its presence in Rajasthan, a region with high demand for leisure travel. The company aims to create connections with its existing properties in Udaipur and Jaipur, enhancing its offerings in the state.

The Leela currently operates 13 properties across India, with plans to increase this number to 23 over the next three years. The expansion includes locations in Agra, Ayodhya, Bandhavgarh, Mumbai, Ranthambore, Sikkim, Srinagar, Dubai, and now Jaisalmer.
