March 9 (UPI) — The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to trade for Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

Sources told NFL Network, ESPN and The Athletic that the teams agreed to swap late picks in the 2026 NFL Draft as part of the transaction. The Steelers also agreed to a three-year, $59 million contract with the 28-year-old wide receiver.

Pittman signed a three-year, $70 million contract extension with the Colts in 2024. He was to hit free agency next off-season.

The six-year veteran caught 80 passes for 784 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns over 17 appearances last season for the Colts. Pittman totaled a career-high 109 catches for 1,152 yards and four scores over 16 appearances in 2024.

He totaled 485 catches for 5,254 yards and 25 scores over his first 95 appearances in the NFL.

Pittman’s trade came on the same day the Colts agreed to a four-year, $114 million contract with wide receiver Alec Pierce. The former Colts playmaker will now enter a Steelers wide receivers room led by DK Metcalf.
