The Springboks have been placed in Pool B alongside Italy, Georgia and Romania for the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
As the defending champions and No 1 ranked team in the world, South Africa are one of four teams in Pool B for the 2027 tournament. The Springboks were drawn in the same pool Italy at the 2019 World Cup, and with Romania at the 2023 World Cup. They have not been in a pool with Georgia since RWC 2003 in Australia.
The pool allocation draw was completed in Sydney on Wednesday, and broadcast live across the world with all teams participating virtually.
With the pools now confirmed, teams and fans can begin planning their 2027 journey to Australia. The next major milestone will be the announcement of the match schedule on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
Rugby fans will then have an opportunity to secure seats during an exclusive two-week presale window starting on 18 February 2026 at 12h00 (AEDT). For more news and information, including how to access tickets in the presale and secure your tickets, visit rugbyworldcup.com/2027.Â
