Reverse ban on open-grazing, Miyetti Allah begs Soludo

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Affiliation of Nigeria (MACBAN) have appealed to Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to not implement the ban on the motion of cattle on foot within the state.

Willie Obiano, the earlier governor of the state, had assented to the Cattle and Different Livestock Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Institution Invoice of Anambra State in 2021, however didn’t implement the ban.

Mr Soludo, throughout a gathering with the MACBAN on the Authorities Home in Awka, final month, expressed his resolve to implement the ban.

He stated the enforcement would start in September, 2022.

However, on Monday, throughout their assembly with the governor, the South-east chief of the cattle breeders group, Gidado Siddiki, appealed to Mr Soludo to droop the implementation for the time being to allow them to coach their members on the ban.

Mr Siddiki stated members of the cattle breeders group have remained “dedicated to the peaceable coexistence” with their host communities within the state and the South-east area.
