Inter Milan have been heavily-linked with Ademola Lookman in the past weeks, but they are yet to seal the deal…

Ademola Lookman’s purported transfer to Inter Milan may take a while before it is completed, as the former Serie A champions are unwilling to meet Atalanta’s €50 million valuation of the winger, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman’s links to Inter Milan has been a serious topic in the world of transfers over the past three weeks.

The 27-year-old winger has been linked to clubs like Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, and West Ham this summer. But it was Inter Milan that made the first move to secure his services.

After the Nerazzurri agreed on personal terms with Lookman, the reason the deal has stalled is Atalanta’s valuation for the forward.

La Dea want €50 million for the Super Eagles star, but Inter Milan tabled an initial bid of €42 million guaranteed plus €3million add-ons, which was rejected.

This got Lookman upset and triggered a set of reactions from the Nigerian attacker. Lookman unfollowed Atalanta and deleted all the images of him at the club from his social media page.

He then released a strong statement to confirm that he tendered a transfer request.

Since then, Lookman has refused to show up for training and went on an extended break without permission from the club.

However, Atalanta still maintain that they want €50 million before selling Lookman, especially since Inter Milan is a direct rival.

Atalanta are holding out for a fee in the region of €50 million, and they have the upperhand in the negotiations, as Lookman has two years left on his contract. So even if he stays at the club, they can still sell him next year.

Meanwhile, according to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, Inter Milan are unwilling to increase their offer for Lookman.

This is as they believe Lookman is not worth more than €45 million, so it is unlikely that they will make an offer soon. Instead, they expect Lookman’s actions to force Atalanta to sell.

With Inter Milan unwilling to increase their fee and Atalanta adamant about their valuation, this will definitely make it difficult for Lookman to get his move.

The Italian transfer window is still open until September 1st, and this issue might drag on until the window closes.
