Preseason Week 3: Saints vs. Broncos – Social media reactions

The 2025 preseason came to a disappointing conclusion Saturday afternoon for the New Orleans Saints after they fell at home to the Denver Broncos by a final score of 28-19. There will be no more exhibition football played. The next time the Saints take the field in the dome will be Sunday, September 7, in the regular season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Let’s check out how social media reacted to the black and gold’s week three matchup.

Starting Defense Looked STRONG:

New Orleans and Denver both had starting units on the field early in the game. The Broncos began on offense and went nowhere as they were forced into a three and out. The Broncos’ next offensive series seemed to be over just as quick before Sean Payton went for it on a fourth and medium to extend the drive. Denver did convert third downs and score when needed, but the 3-4 defense was humming.

2025 Draft Class is Deep with Talent:

Top to bottom, this year’s rookie class is very eye-opening. With cut days on the horizon, more plays were made and more talent was displayed than we had seen all offseason. It’s far to early to try and compare to the levels of the star-studded 2017 class, but the Saints look like they’ve got a good freshman class for Kellen Moore to take over.

Consistent Kicking:

As tight as position battles have been all offseason, one player has stepped up and went above all expectations. Kicker Blake Grupe has had a phenomenal camp and preseason while holding off a strong rally from Charlie Smyth for the starting gig. Obviously, kicking without any added pressure or in a game that does not matter as far as season results go, but if Grupe can carryover the momentum all year that he’s riding now, he will give the Saints a serious chance to win some games.
