Police in Lagos State have arrested a 22-year-old man, Ayomide Fawehinmi, for alleged youngster trafficking.

The Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest in a press release on Monday, stated officers rescued the suspect from a mob within the Empire Space of Surulere.

Mr Hundeyin stated police operatives connected to Surulere Division responded to a misery name from the world and rescued the person, alleged to have lured a 15-year-old boy.

The spokesman stated preliminary investigations revealed that the boy was at his mom’s store when the suspect tried to take him to an unknown vacation spot.

The suspect was, nonetheless, accosted by a neighbour who raised the alarm.

“The suspect had already dispossessed the boy of an Itel Android cellphone to chop off communication along with his mom.

“Whereas the boy has been rescued unharmed and the cellphone recovered, an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the total extent of the suspect’s culpability.
