PenCom gained’t succumb to blackmail – DG

Nationwide Pension Fee

The Director-Normal, Nationwide Pension Fee, Mrs Aisha Dahir-Umar, has kicked in opposition to any type of blackmail in opposition to the Fee, saying that it has nothing to cover.

This was in response to a press release signed by PenCom Administration and issued on Saturday.

Based on the assertion, Mrs Dahir-Umar famous that PenCom was conscious of a coordinated plan to carry the Fee into disrepute with frivolous petitions to the anti-graft companies with the assistance of disgruntled insiders.

She was quoted within the assertion as saying, “These components, a few of whom are but to return to phrases with the truth that PenCom is now not at their beck and name, have been sponsoring detrimental media reviews and getting faceless teams to jot down frivolous petitions to the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee.

“Though, some low-level media outfits are giving a voice to those defamatory petitions, those that understand how we conduct our affairs at PenCom will not be in any approach bothered. Since I took over because the DG, we have now undertaken far-reaching reforms inside the organisation that are yielding optimistic outcomes

“Those that suppose they’ll use the fee to earn money or that they need to be those calling the pictures are bitterly disillusioned and are sponsoring false publications and trumped-up petitions. We are going to co-operate totally with the companies. Our message to the disgruntled components in the present day is precisely because it was yesterday: we is not going to permit anybody to pilfer pension funds for self-aggrandisement. It can by no means occur underneath my watch.”

She additional famous that the blackmail had been ongoing since 2017, and the Fee had refused to give up to it as a result of it had nothing to cover.
