Might 9 (UPI) — Max launched a teaser trailer for the second season of DC Studios collection Peacemaker, starring John Cena. The brand new season will debut Aug. 21.
Season 2 consists of eight episodes and can characteristic Cena reprising his position because the DC Comics antihero he beforehand portrayed in The Suicide Squad and Season 1 of Peacemaker.
“The brand new season follows Christopher ‘Chris’ Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante tremendous hero, as he struggles to reconcile his previous along with his newfound sense of objective whereas persevering with to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any price,” an official synopsis reads.
Different returning stars embody Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick. Season 2 can even characteristic new forged members Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez and Tim Meadows.
James Gunn, who created the collection and directed The Suicide Squad, is credited as author for all eight episodes of the brand new season, and directed three episodes, together with the season opener.
Gunn and Cena government produce alongside Peter Safran.
The brand new season debuts Aug. 21 at 9 p.m. EDT on Max.
