Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), the governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP), and the social gathering have submitted a petition earlier than the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Lagos State.
PDP and Jandor are calling for the disqualification of the Labour Celebration (LP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates within the election for non-compliance with the Electoral Act, 2022.
Whereas INEC is the first respondent, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat; the APC, the LP Governorship Candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and the LP, respectively, are the 2nd, third, 4th, fifth, and sixth respondents.
The petition marked EPT/LAG/GOV/01/2023 and dated April 7, challenged the end result of the gubernatorial election on the grounds of considerable non-compliance with the Electoral Act and the rules of the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).
Jandor and PDP, of their petition, are claiming that on the time of the Gubernatorial election, Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat, and Rhodes-Vivour weren’t certified to contest the ballot.
