Veteran Turkish football commentator Erman Toroğlu has compared Nigeria’s two in-form strikers, Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen, following another prolific weekend in the Turkish Süper Lig, Soccernet.ng reports.
Both forwards were again on the scoresheet as the title race tightened at the top of the table.
Onuachu stole the headlines by firing a brilliant brace to lead Trabzonspor to a commanding 3-0 away victory over Samsunspor in week 21 of the Trendyol Süper Lig.

The burgundy-blue side dominated the contest, with the towering Super Eagles striker scoring his team’s opening two goals. Although he found the net four times in total, one effort was ruled out for a foul and another for offside.
Those strikes lifted Onuachu to 15 league goals for the season, placing him top of the Süper Lig scoring chart, an impressive return despite missing several matches while representing Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Osimhen also continued his fine form for Galatasaray, netting his ninth league goal of the campaign in a comfortable 3-0 away win over Çaykur Rizespor. The Super Eagles star now has 15 goals in all competitions this season and his latest effort saw him overtake Bafétimbi Gomis to become the fifth highest-scoring foreign player in Galatasaray’s history.
The former Napoli forward has now scored in five consecutive appearances for the Istanbul giants, matching his longest streak for the Istanbul giants.

Widely regarded as Nigeria’s leading striker and the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, Osimhen remains a key figure in Galatasaray’s title push.

Toroğlu explains where Onuachu has the edge
However, Toroğlu believes Onuachu possesses qualities that give him an advantage in three crucial areas of attacking play.

The 77-year-old former player, FIFA-level referee and respected pundit shared his view while analysing the performances of both forwards.
“Trabzonspor signed Onuachu,” Toroğlu said as per 61Saat.
“He’s the second best player in Nigeria after Osimhen. Onuachu’s shooting technique is better than Osimhen’s. His through balls are better than Osimhen’s. His body feints are also better than Osimhen’s. Osimhen is faster in terms of speed, but despite his height, Onuachu’s mobility is truly incredible.”

Both strikers will have the chance to extend their goalscoring runs in the coming days. Osimhen and Galatasaray face Eyüpspor on Friday, while Onuachu and Trabzonspor prepare for a heavyweight clash with Fenerbahçe on Saturday.
Osimhen finished last season as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals, but Onuachu is now firmly in pole position to challenge his countryman for the Golden Boot this time around.
