He made the decision on X.

Omokri wrote; “President Tinubu can instantly enhance the financial circumstances of most Nigerians and make the Naira develop by issuing an Government Order authorising the Nigerian Communications Fee to ban sports activities betting apps from the App Retailer of any GSM Web Service Supplier in Nigeria and revoking the licences of any bodily sports activities betting operators in Nigeria. It makes higher sense than Buhari’s draconian #TwitterBan.

“There may be such an epidemic of playing in Nigeria and it’s destroying Nigerian youths. $1 billion is spent on playing every day in Nigeria, based on the Nationwide Lottery Belief Fund. Please fact-check me. The typical Nigerian spends $15 every day on sports activities betting and different kinds of playing, with the overwhelming majority of that quantity leaving our financial system and going to locations like Russia, South Africa, and Europe. The Naira can by no means maintain its rally below such circumstances.

“A whole lot of the petty crime in Nigeria is attributable to youths looking for cash, by any means, to fund their playing behavior. It will be irresponsible for a first-class accountant like Tinubu to not act on such a matter as threatening to our nationwide safety as this playing epidemic.”
