While the Premier League and Championship might have been forced into another fortnight interval thanks to October’s international break, we still have a stacked schedule from across England’s lower leagues.

Alongside a full round of EFL Trophy fixtures in midweek, we also have a couple of intriguing National League showdowns on the cards.

As Scunthorpe look to widen their buffer in the play-off places, we have taken a glance at some of the most appealing National League betting tips which are available on Tuesday night.

19:45 Scunthorpe vs Morecambe

Watching their extended purple patch come to an end over the weekend as they eventually fell to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Carlisle, Scunthorpe are desperately seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, despite only making their National League return this season, Andy Butler’s men have enjoyed a stellar start to proceedings. Getting Tuesday’s return to Lincolnshire underway sat in the play-off places, the Irons have their sights set on mounting another promotion charge this year. Getting October underway with an eye-catching 3-1 victory away at York City, Scunthorpe have lost just one of their first 12 National League appearances since opening up the new campaign. With the mood around Glanford Park at a continued high, the former Doncaster coach should be smelling a golden opportunity in midweek. Despite mustering just a sole win from any of their last four showdowns at Glanford Park across all competitions, the play-off contenders are rightfully installed as a standout contender here.

Losing their League Two status with a whimper last season and dealing with a string of public issues behind the scenes, Morecambe find themselves at the heart of an extended nightmare. Suffering a late collapse against Tamworth over the weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate, new boss Ashvir Singh Johal could already have some mounting pressure on his shoulders. Signing off September with a nightmare performance at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium as they slumped to a 5-2 defeat against Gateshead, the Lancashire-based outfit have clinched just a single point from any of their last four National League showdowns. With their crisis underlined by a 5-0 drumming away at Truro on September 27th, Morecambe open the midweek fixtures sat rock-bottom of the table. Already shipping a staggering 33 National League goals so far this season, the Reds face another stern examination here.

19:45 AFC Fylde vs Leamington

Making an immediate return to winning ways over the weekend as they cruised their way to a 3-1 victory away at Telford, AFC Fylde will be dreaming of a repeat performance here. Losing their National League status last season, it is no secret that Craig Mahon’s men have their sights firmly set on clinching an immediate fifth-tier return this time around. Getting the new campaign underway with an action-packed 3-2 win at home against Oxford City on August 9th, the Lancashire-based outfit will be confident of making another statement in midweek. In fact, the former Cursor Ashton boss has seen his squad register 22 points from their first nine appearances. Knowing that they can move within touching distance of top spot in the National League North standings here, AFC Fylde have also impressed with their free-scoring performances in the final third. Including a stellar 5-0 romp against Peterborough Sports on September 6th, Tuesday’s hosts have already notched 23 goals so far this season and hold the best-attacking return in the division.

While Leamington might have clinched consecutive National League North victories on either side of opening September, the Brakes have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen over the weekend suffer a collapse on home soil as they eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hereford, Paul Holleran’s side have come tumbling down the table. Getting Tuesday’s showdown underway scrapping it out in the bottom-half of the standings, Leamington look set for what will be another stern challenge here. Watching their FA Cup qualifying adventure come to an end on September 13th as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming against Alvechurch, Hollernan’s men have lost all of their previous three appearances across all competitions. Including a 2-0 defeat against Spennymoor last month, the midweek guests have shown some recent issues at the back. In fact, the Warwickshire-based outfit have mustered just a sole clean sheet from any of their previous seven matchups across all fronts.
