Super Eagles and Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika is once again at the centre of transfer attention, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old, who has been a key figure for Club Brugge since arriving from FC Midtjylland, and has continued to attract admirers owing to his ability.

Onyedika was linked with AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, and West Ham last summer, but no move materialised.

However, fresh revelations suggest that the race for his signature is heating up again, with strong interest emerging from Turkey, England, and the Bundesliga as the January window approaches.

The truth behind Galatasaray interest

A source close to the player revealed that reports linking Onyedika with Galatasaray are indeed accurate.

It is understands that the Turkish giants have made the midfielder one of their top targets for the winter market as they look to reinforce their midfield options.

“Yes, the Galatasaray interest is true,” the source confirmed to Footy Africa. “But they are not the only team interested in him at the moment. In fact, they are not the only team in Turkey who want him. There is Galatasaray and another club I don’t want to mention, but they are in the top three in Turkey.”

This comment aligns with earlier reports placing Onyedika on Galatasaray’s shortlist, with the club expected to intensify their push in the coming weeks.

Transfer interest — who’s after Onyedika?

Beyond Turkey, Onyedika is attracting interest from multiple leagues.

Two Premier League sides are reportedly monitoring the midfielder closely, with one of them described as a newly promoted team.

One of the English clubs had made an attempt last summer and has now returned for his signature.

The source added: “Also, two teams in England want him. One of them were after him in the last transfer window, and they are back for him again. One of the teams is a newly promoted team who are doing well at the moment,”

Interest from Eintracht Frankfurt remains alive as well. The Bundesliga side previously viewed Onyedika as a strong candidate to bolster their midfield and could revisit the move in January.

What’s likely soon

A transfer is possible — but far from straightforward.

According to the source, Club Brugge’s stance will be decisive. The Belgian giants are chasing the league title and aiming to advance in Europe, and losing a key midfielder mid-season would complicate their plans.

“A lot depends on what Club Brugge are willing to take,” the source warned. “It will be difficult for him to move because Brugge want to win the title and also do well in the Champions League. However, I am sure if the right amount is tabled they will allow him to go, but it is going to be very difficult.”

Brugge had previously placed a valuation around the €20 million mark, but with demand growing from Turkey, England, and Germany, the price could rise in January.
