The Nationwide Universities Fee (NUC) has affirmed that no tertiary establishment in Nigeria is permitted to impose tuition charges in {dollars}.
Chris Maiyaki, the performing Government Secretary of NUC, made this declaration throughout a media briefing with schooling reporters in Abuja on Thursday, Feb. 15.
His assertion was prompted by an announcement from the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC), which summoned proprietors of personal universities and different increased studying establishments in Nigeria suspected of levying charges in {dollars}.
Maiyaki mentioned: “On the dollarisation of tuition charges on this mentioned college, now we have investigated it and the college will not be charging charges in {dollars}. They solely cost {dollars} to overseas college students. So, I need the media to hitch fingers with us to inform the general public that no Nigerian college is allowed to cost charges in {dollars}.”
