NLC directs employees to protest at CBN branches

The Nigeria Labour Congress on Wednesday directed all employees to march in opposition to naira shortage in any respect the workplaces of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) all through the nation beginning subsequent week.

Joe Ajaero, NLC President issued the directive at an ongoing press briefing at Labour Home in Abuja.

He stated the transfer becames essential following the expiration of a one-week ultimatum given to the apex financial institution to make money obtainable for Nigerians.

On March 13, 2023, the NLC issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Authorities, calling for rapid motion to cushion the impact of money crunch and gasoline shortage disaster, or face industrial motion by Nigerian employees.

NLC President stated the economic motion grew to become the final resolve of the Congress, having urged the Federal Authorities by completely different channels to consider the extreme hardship employees and Nigerian residents are experiencing due to the persistent money shortage.
