She rose by the ranks within the military, changing into a colonel and deputy commander of the Nigerian Military Medical Corps by 1990.

Her position was initially as chief psychiatrist to the military. Later, she turned Director of the Nigerian Medical Corps and was its Chief Medical Officer till 1996.

She was promoted to Main-Basic in 1994 and retired from the military in 1997. Aderonke was married to Oladele Kale, a preventive and social drugs professor, and was a mom of 5 sons, together with Yemi Kale, former Statistician-Basic of Nigeria.
