The South African Nationwide Defence Power (SANDF) has confirmed that 4 troopers have been killed throughout a conflict with the M23 rebels group in Goma, within the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

On Tuesday, SANDF spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini mentioned following an change of mortar bombs between the FARDC, Congolese Defence Power, and the M23 insurgent militia on Monday, 27 January, close to Goma Airport the place the SANDF base is collocated, three members of the SANDF have been caught within the crossfire and have been killed.
