Newcastle United want to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window, according to Sports Boom. The report has claimed that the Magpies have identified the Italy international midfielder as a replacement for Sandro Tonali.

Tonali was linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window. Arsenal remain keen on a 2026 summer deal for the Italy international midfielder, who is the subject of interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United, too.

Newcastle, though, are not the only club from the Premier League club that are showing interest in Barella. The report has claimed that Crystal Palace, too, want the midfielder. While Inter do not want to sell, Newcastle are said to be ready to ‘test Inter’s resolve with a blockbuster offer of around £40million’.
