The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has launched a nationwide online portal to streamline two sensitive services: drug integrity testing and visa clearance certification, according to NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), applicants can create accounts, apply from anywhere, and book appointments at accredited centres.
Certificates are generated digitally upon completion of testing, while visa clearance is processed within three days, up to a week in special cases,to reduce bottlenecks and curb fraud.
The roll-out, announced on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, seeks to improve transparency, standardise turnaround times, and cut out middlemen exploiting applicants. Initial guidance from NDLEA and multiple national outlets confirms that the platform consolidates requests, payments, scheduling, and issuance, offering a single source of truth for employers, schools, and foreign missions that require verified drug-free status.
Media briefings also emphasised data protection and audit trails to deter forgery, with NDLEA warning the public against unofficial agents.
For Nigerians navigating education and migration systems that demand drug integrity documentation, the digital portal marks a substantial administrative upgrade, one designed to reduce costs, speed decisions, and strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s anti-drug regime.
