Naira Shortage: “Do like El-rufai” – Tinubu urges Governors to Ignore Buhari

The presidential flag-bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on Friday referred to as on Nigerian governors to ignore President Muhammadu Buhari’s order that N500 and N1,000 notes are unlawful tenders.

POLITICS NIGERIA experiences that Buhari introduced on Thursday that the outdated N500 and N1,000 notes had been not authorized tender and that his administration would solely settle for the outdated N200 till April 10.

This announcement was met with stiff opposition by governors of Kaduna and Kano states, Nasir El-Rufai and Abdullahi Ganduje respectively.

In a round shared by an APC presidential marketing campaign spokesperson Dele Alake, the previous Lagos governor urged “pleasant governors” to observe swimsuit with El-Rufai’s stance. El Rufai had requested residents of Kaduna State to proceed spending the outdated Naira notes (N500 and N1,000).

The round added the Supreme Courtroom should have the ultimate say.

“All pleasant governors should replicate Kaduna handle instantly to guarantee the integrity of the SC (Supreme Courtroom) and (the) rule of regulation for the native and worldwide neighborhood. That is the essence of constitutional federation with the SC having remaining say and follows USA greatest follow,” the round learn.
